Data in the ATL - Trees Atlanta

Data in the ATL - Trees Atlanta In-Person

Utilizing Data to Conserve & Grow Atlanta’s Tree Canopy

Since 1985 Trees Atlanta has planted over 140,000 trees along the city's streets and community spaces; working with its dedicated volunteer base to protect and grow the metro area's tree canopy. The nonprofit utilizes data systems like ArcGIS and Salesforce to plan, execute, and record projects ranging from tree plantings to summer camps. Join us as we welcome Trees Atlanta’s Data Manager, James Moy, as he discusses how the organization uses data in their urban forestry efforts.

GSU students, staff, faculty, and Atlanta community members are all welcome to register and attend. Please note that those affiliated with GSU will need their PantherCards to enter the Library and non-GSU visitors will need to present a government-issued id.

This will be an in-person event held in CURVE, Library South 2nd Floor, Georgia State University Library, 100 Decatur Street SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Face masks are strongly recommended.
