Summer R Workshop #2 – R programming: Loops, Conditionals, and Functions
This workshop is an introduction to three core programming constructs essential for advanced use of the R statistical programming language: iteration (loops), code abstraction (functions), and decision making (conditionals). This workshop is intended for beginners to programming who have some moderate experience with R. Required background: participants should know basic uses of R, such as loading data, working with data frames and vectors/lists, selecting and filtering data, and using elementary statistical functions. Materials: all required materials will be provided via a web accessible interface, so no pre-installed software is required, however you will need to sign up beforehand to get an account on the computer system we will be using. A laptop computer is required to participate in the workshop.
