Introduction to LaTeX document preparation system (online) In-Person
IMPORTANT: All RDS Workshops will be offered solely online for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester.

- You may be required to download the Webex app to attend the workshop, so please give yourself ample time to do so before the workshop begins.
- Set these as your options when joining the Webex meeting: (1) Set your video option to No Video, and (2) Mute yourself.
- You will NOT need to install any data software to attend the workshop -- you will not be doing any hands-on work during the online workshop but instead will be watching the workshop instructor demonstrate the software/tools. There will be opportunities to ask questions.
This workshop is a general overview of a document preparation system LaTeX. LaTeX is a high-quality typesetting system; it includes features designed for the production of technical and scientific documentation. LaTeX is the de facto standard for the communication and publication of scientific documents. In this workshop, you will learn how to create ready-to-publish articles and presentation slides using Overleaf, an online LaTeX editor.

- Prior to coming to the workshop, please go to the Overleaf website and create an account by clicking the "register" button.
- The workshop files are available at https://research.library.gsu.edu/latex
Please note: This workshop creates all documents using code. No previous knowledge of coding is required.

- Document formatting (text, formulas/equations, tables, figures)
- Creating bibliographies for papers
- Creating presentations with LaTeX's Beamer
- File conversion and publishing
Prerequisites: None.
