Inclusive Searching: Subject Terms, Keywords, and Bias Online
In this online workshop, Humanities Instruction Librarian Jill Anderson will
- Demonstrate various techniques for inclusive searching in article databases and in the library's catalog
- Offer background/discussion on the culturally biased nature of subject terms used within databases and library catalogs
- Suggest search strategies that can help work around the limitations of subject terms
THIS IS AN ONLINE WORKSHOP CONDUCTED VIA WEBEX.
You will need speakers or headphones, or you can listen via phone. You do not need a microphone and can participate in discussion via chat if you do not have microphone access.
